The ability to overthink existence is human behavior. The human brain is designed to fathom and to describe, then to dig deeper and deeper and to create explanations. A normal question of purpose or evasion: “Why am I here? Who cares why I’m here?”, is a constant accompaniment of human life. The search for meaning plagues humans so that they formulate answers that are plausible or fantastical.
The search for spiritual connection is a normal aspect of human existence. Religions provide spiritual frameworks for fathoming purpose, tragedy, and death. They also provide frameworks for conducting daily endeavors. And they provide paths to spiritual ascension.
When religions align in beliefs about food, apparel and relationships, understanding is possible without agreement on religious tenents. Similar outlooks about the more mundane aspects of life (food, apparel, relationships) enable willingness to acknowledge the other’s way of life. Alignment enables acceptance.
When religions align in outlook towards animals, vegetation or liturgy, there is possibility of transcendent meeting. The connection of these external aspects of life bring understanding that moves beyond tribal kinship.
When religions align against an invading ideology, their connection is tentative and can fray easily. Alignment against something, when there is no alignment in mundane or transcendent aspects, is fragile. This alignment can actually lead to future disagreements. To sustain the alignment, the religious groups must communicate respect for each other’s beliefs.
Note: This subject may seem theoretical, but it is actually in practice constantly. Spirit shares this information to encourage examination of similarities in religious outlooks and practices.
