Choosing value over wispy fluff

Cotton

“…when moments are wasted or spent on destructive pursuits or focused on valueless fluff, balance and security are taken away.”  This quote pounds us with the truth about wasting time in the chapter “Moment” in Pond a Connected Existence.

I know this wisdom; I truly do, and yet I still choose valueless fluff when meaningful endeavors call to me. Wasteful time wasters abound, and I let them pull me down. Down into the abyss of valueless activity. Far into the place where time is irretrievable, where time is lost and cannot be replaced. Time gone, flittered away on meaningless wispy fluff.

The lure of smallness is greater than the push to impact. Having an impact on others, on society, on global conservation, on local causes, and on family issues, is people-ness. Impacting and not ignoring, impacting and not allowing laziness to win out. To live with narrow expectations might seem easier, but in reality it leaves people empty when the end comes. When the end comes, knowing that impact took place because of one’s positive efforts makes the exit less difficult.

Energy Guidance Complete illuminates the way, but the way has to be followed. Step by step, one change at a time, one better choice and then another. Following the guidance because it is wise and then following the soulfully felt guidance because it is intuitively wise. Energy Guidance Complete and soulful guidance: two ascents that flow from the same source.

Light and Fluffy

Cute messages, catchy phrases, light lessons. These delivery methods propel information.

Deeper, meaningful texts require time and intellectual investment.

The information presented in my blog—not light, not fluffy. Sometimes cute, but sometimes stern. Catchy word play occasionally.

The information presented in my blog—spiritually inspired, spiritually connecting. The wording is not my own nor are the ideas expressed my ideas. I am the formatter and the decipherer of the information. The weight of the words is much greater because the words come through me, but not from me.

Here is a reminder from Spiritual Presence:

“People fill their limited time with unimportant and un-elevating wispy-fluff. They don’t realize the effects of empty and valueless time wasters. They think their choices have value, interesting dimensions, and resulting effects. Most often their choices have deficiency, narrow borders, and insignificant effects.

Wispy-fluff. Vanity of vanities. Empty undertakings.

Truly there are ways to live, ways to choose, ways to show love, ways to show affection, ways to transmit rules and requirements, and ways to interact with the environment. One simply has to decide to live in a sustaining and non-damaging manner. The choice is available to all.”

Live abundantly. How? Desire less!

Post 123-live abundantly

The way to abundant living is through self-elevating more and complaining less. Complaining raises expectations; self-elevating raises satisfaction.

What does self-elevation mean? Raising oneself by being aware of one’s own abilities and strengths, knowing how to be focused, and knowing how to be appreciative.

Self-elevation requires three things:

  • Living according to intuition and understanding of oneself
  • Being aware of self-imposed stumbling blocks and purposefully removing them
  • Connecting to less

How do I live as I truly am?

You can create a life that is authentic to who you are by noticing how you feel when you do things that un-happy you. Not that you must be happy all the time. That’s not it—at all!

A person can be doing very difficult work, but the work doesn’t cause unhappiness. Only if the work goes against one’s values or against the good of one’s neighbors/community does the work cause unhappiness.

You live an un-unhappy life by cultivating awareness of others’ needs and understanding how their needs and yours are similar. You live an un-unhappy life by cultivating health and healthful living. You live an un-unhappy life by driving yourself to do the things that make you swell with pride and fulfillment.

How can I be aware of my self-imposed stumbling blocks

You build stumbling blocks throughout your life when you internalize negative thoughts from yourself and others. Removing them requires that you realize you are holding yourself back, that you plan action to do the things that are important to you, and that you follow through. Not easy, but doable.

How can I be satisfied with less?

Living with less is key to living abundantly. When you have less stuff, the stuff has more value. This statement does not mean that you have to sell your home and move into a mini-house. It means you can have stuff, but that you minimize it to the stuff you need and that you care for. Collections are fine—even broadening, but not everything needs to be collected and overdone.

When you see something you want to buy, consider whether or not you need it and whether or not is causes you to feel vitalized. These questions can apply to buying almost everything including food, clothes, and electronic equipment. The less you need, the more you appreciate.

Vitality revisited

Vitality

The feeling of life in one’s body is an extraordinary feeling. Noticing the feeling of being alive, of being awake, of being vital. Amazing! Yet taken for granted and not appreciated. Too many people focus on pain or discomfort or hurt feelings. Those things exist, but they are minor in comparison to the body’s vitality!

Vitality! This word should always be written in color and in bold—and with an exclamation point! So that people will read it with energy and with desire. Desire to feel the strength of the word deep within the core of one’s being.

V-i-t-a-l-i-t-y! Feel its pull and its launch. Living life in a rich sense of being. Living life with gusto and with verve. Living life with emotion—feeling the fullness of each moment as it passes into the past.

When the blues hit or the bones creak, they take the focus and move miraculous existence to second best. Keep in mind that emotional ebbs and physical challenges are just parts of living—but they are not the main elements. They steal attention from the important aspects of life, and people must be vigilant to not become too immersed in the difficult and unhappy moments.  Health is so multi-faceted that its wonder is often overlooked. Appreciating the wonder of health is imperative to living with vitality!

Vitality! Not agreeing to smallness or boredom or apathy. Embracing the largeness of life, its excitement and its joy (or sorrow). Embracing and feeling the blood flowing in the body and the breath in the lungs.

Vitality! Allowing ourselves to release into the amazement of ourselves!

“Your health is what you make of it. Everything you do and think either adds to the vitality, energy and spirit you possess or takes away from it.”
