Me, Myself, & I: Three poems, three views

Poem-Me Myself I

Here is the first of three poems from the book Connection—A Collection of Wisdom Poetry in the section “Connection to Myself”:

!!Me!!

Me, myself, and I.

The same and yet different.

Me is the part that is
usually unsure and needing assurance.

The part that wants
to be noticed but missed.

The part that cautiously advances
yet jumps at the opportunity
to experience change.

The part that sees the needs of others
and holds back.

The part that sees the needs of me
and holds back.

The part that craves love
and then becomes afraid
when love is received.

The part that understands
the desire for friendship
although friendships are not
always pursued.

The part that recognizes
personal blocks and
self-imposed limitations,
sometimes caving in and
sometimes not.

Me is wary and
hopeful and
deliberating.

Me can be too wary and
too gullible and
too exacting.

Navigating life through
Me thinking can be
safe but restricting.

Creating relationships through
Me thinking can be
supportive but restricting.

Living life through
Me thinking can be
satisfying but restricting.

Me thinking
is part of
balanced living.

Me, myself, and I.

The same and yet different.

The wisdom poem “Faith” set to music

Cover-Faith

I am honored that Diane Kaplan, who is a singer-songwriter-spiritual connector, set part of Faith— A Wisdom Poem Sharing Spiritual Connection to music.

After reading sections of the poem, she chose this section: Poem-Faith-opening to Spirit

Here is the song:

A wisdom poem “… is a poem that is dictated directly from Spiritual Presence. Each poem shares/provides/shouts a message. Each message can lead to connection and balance.”

Faith can open the possibility of spiritual connection, which can bring uplifting and expansive living. The book is available on amazon. com. Click the book title to buy it: Faith— A Wisdom Poem Sharing Spiritual Connection,

A Poem: Same Story, Different Victims

against one another

So much hurting of others is going on, and each group sees itself as justified or oppressed. Here is a poem I was inspired to write after seeing the movie “Selma”.

A wisdom poem sharing spiritual connection: “Faith”

Cover-Faith

I have previously published two books of wisdom poetry: “Unfolding” and “Connection“. As described in both of these books, a wisdom poem “… is a poem that is dictated directly from Spiritual Presence. Each poem shares/provides/shouts a message. Each message can lead to connection and balance.”

A new book has come through me, Faith— A Wisdom Poem Sharing Spiritual Connection,  and this book consists of a single poem that directs the reader towards spiritual connection. Spiritual connection is enlightening and focusing. It might last only a few moments, but the connection can be carried back into day-to-day living.

This book is dedicated to my stepmother, Elaine Kaye-Kellner, who is proof that a stepmother can be a gift. I am thankful for her every day.

Here is an excerpt from the poem:

Poem-Faith

Alone

alone

Alone
Lone
One

One alone
Is consuming

Alone sadly
Is loneness deafening

Alone purposely
Is loneness possible

Alone freshly
Is loneness submerged

Alone soulfully
Is loneness building

Loneness felt
Is loneness truly

Being alone
Strokes or overwhelms
With self-inspired vengeance

Being alone lonely
Is loneness undesirable

Being alone creatively
Is loneness directed

Too Many Things—A Poem

too many things

I recently read a book about organizing. Its main principle is to get rid of things that do not bring joy. Here’s a poem from Unfolding that describes the problem of having too many things:

Too many things, 45 gadgets, 37 candles,
16 appliances, 38 souvenirs, 30 pictures,
29 display items, 28 shirts, 24 pairs of shoes,
20 gifts, 82 plastic bags, 10 advertisements,
18 once-loved items, 13 jackets, much much more.

Too many things
cause too much possessiveness
which causes
too much fear
causing
too much of whatever ails.

Too many things
require too much storage
which causes
too much forgotten
causing
too much wastefulness.

Too many things

Too many things
waste time.

Too many things
feed too much dissatisfaction.

Shout out the wonder!

shout

“Spiritual Presence opens my mouth
to share the wisdom
to speak when I feel unable
and to shout out the wonder.”

-from the poem “Unfolding Information” in Unfolding

Shouting out the wonder is not easy when you have been raised to stay quiet, be polite, and keep your opinions to yourself. Learning to speak out when speaking out is required is not an easy thing to do. There are many stories about reluctant leaders who feel ill-equipped to take on the roles they have been tasked to do. Some step up and become great; some refuse and suffer for their silence.

Three years ago, I received the gift of communication with Spiritual Presence. The gift evolved from personal assistance for just me to assistance for everyone through me. I have learned to share the wisdom through writing this blog and the Energy Guidance Complete books. I have looked my disbelieving, skeptical friends and family in the face and said that I have complete faith in the existence of Spiritual Presence. I now run a “Getting to Know Your Soul” workshop and teach the wisdom about the soul. I have moved from mumbling about the work I do to forthrightly stating that I am a spiritual healer and channeler.

The hard part for me is the shouting, the shouting out the wonder, the wonder of being able to know so much truth and wisdom and to share it so that people will listen, really listen. The shouting is hard. My connection with Spiritual Presence is natural and understated so that the wisdom comes through me naturally and quietly. But people need the roar and the thunder! People need to realize the amazingness of this connection! So I’m working on the shout.

Here is the definition for Wisdom poetry from the Foreword:

“Poetry is removing the excess words and focusing on the essence.

The poems in this book are wisdom poems from Spiritual Presence. A wisdom poem is a poem that is dictated directly from Spiritual Presence. Each poem shares/provides/shouts a message. Each message can lead to connection and balance.

As you read the poems, consider the messages and partake of their energy and truthfulness.

So much wisdom in so few words!”

The poetry sings our connections: our connections to other people, to animals, to nature, to spirituality, and to ourselves.

Someone to Watch Over Me

Connections

Perhaps there are angels that
watch over me.
Perhaps there are twinkly-beings that
light my way.
Perhaps there are helpers that
guide my daily strivings and focus my efforts.

There are, there are, there are.

Someone to watch over me
when despair strikes
when sadness wearies
when the way is unclear
when joy is felt and calling to be shared
when excitement is felt and calling to be shown.

Someone to light my way
when the path is blurred
and the signs are missing.

Someone to guide my daily strivings
so I find my stride
and perform my best
and achieve my goals.

Someone to focus my efforts
so I see the steps
and move with ease
and grow in wisdom.

Perhaps there are angels that watch over me
and twinkly-beings
and helpers too.

Yes! There are!

There are, there are, there are.

The Soul’s Influence

soul connection

For you I will proceed diligently
For you I will strive

You and I have connection
You and I have purpose

Our paths are one
Our paths are divided

Joined in physicality
Joined in transparency

Soul of my body
Body for my soul

Bound and dependent
Distinct and independent

For you I will reach higher
For you I will believe

Anniversary thoughts

Hearts-anniversary

In honor of my husband’s and my anniversary, I’m posting thoughts about couples from various Energy Guidance Complete books.

From The Gift of Intuitive, Dedicated Comfort:

Finding a partner who generally fills expectations is worthy of investment.

From Pond a Connected Existence:

Finding a way to be together without creating chaos. That is the goal in partnership. Finding a way to survive, to support, and to care. Living as designed—with and not without, together and not alone, next to and not far from.

From Oneself—Living:

Love is labyrinthian, multifaceted, and demanding—demanding in attention, demanding in compassion. Demanding in a good way, that is, love requires consideration of a person’s essence and foibles. … Multi-faceted refers to the various moods of love—desire, yearning, simmer, and satisfaction. Labyrinthian because love can be hard to negotiate, discover, and unravel.

From Vitality!:

You should speak compassionately…

From Awaiting Light:

Togetherness is vital for normal human development.

From Unfolding:

The union of two individuals
Union of differences
Distinct preferences
Attractions separate
Yet joined.

Two
Too
Together

The union of two individuals
Direction for life chosen
Focus on similar aim
Movement coordinated
Yet individual.

Two
Too
Together

The union of two individuals
The merging of separate souls
The rhythm of mankind retained.

Here’s to togetherness!

The way to diet

Diet books-tower of confusion

The world of dieting is fraught with quick-results claims and misinformation. Diets work for those who build an individualized plan, not through following the latest fad diet, but through understanding of food and its role in nourishing the body.

Moderation is the foundation of proper eating. Eating whole and nutritious foods builds on the foundation.

Here is a poem that will appear in the future book of poetry “Growth”:

Connection with Spiritual Connection

Spiritual connection

Spiritual connection surrounds all that we do. When we are doubtful of ourselves, spiritual connection is urging us to be supportive. Spiritual connection supports our actions, and we have to support them too.

When efforts seem wasted and quitting feels close, we must reach for the connection and let it support.

I’m writing wisdom poetry about faith. Here is a quote from the poem:

The opening to
Oneself is the
Opening to Spirit. Within oneself
Is the connection
Through the soul. For the soul
Yes the soul
Is Spirit derived. The soul
Carries energy that is
Spirit derived.

The opening to
Oneself is
Opening to Spirit. Opening to Spirit
Through self-inspection.
Finding the connection.
Finding the soul.

+ When you find your soul, you will be
open to Spirit.

And another quote from the poem:

The soul
Opens the living being
To spiritual energy.

The soul
Bridges the gap
Between beyond
And grounded.

Relaxation in soulful connection
Is natural and possible. Soulful connection
Brings relaxed being. Relaxed being is
Floating in thoughts of
Acceptance and connection. At
Connection is release from
Hurtful self-affliction. At
Connection is release
From criticism.
Relaxed being is floating in thoughts
While firmly attached to physicality.

The blood still flows.
The digestion continues on.
The nerves sense stimulation.
The breathing continues.
The body remains firmly established.

Connection is through physicality transcended
And thoughts receiving the body’s strength.

Connection is through thoughts a-soaring
Through flesh and blood aligning
And activation from soulful assistance.

And from the poem’s conclusion:

Connection to Spirit,
Sacred connection
Many paths and many offerings.
The connection has resonance
The connection uplifts the life.

Connection to Spirit,
Continuing connection
Many forms and many presentations.
The connection shares wonder
The connection inspires the life.

Entertainment through performance

Post 107-entertainment

Music, art, slapstick, drama, literature, dance, and other forms of entertainment.  All are created by people for people. Experiencing entertainment is soul-fulfilling. Creating entertainment is soul exercise because the soul requires the stretch of the imagination and the melody of the breeze. Any form of entertainment that is awakening for the soul is soul exercise.

From the book of poetry, Unfolding:

The Small Theater

      Movies, plays, and artistic performances
Blossom at the small theater.

      Audience interactions—
Among themselves and with the performance,
Creating a shared sense of experience,
A shared sense of time.

The small theater.
Calling people out of their homes.
Providing opportunity to interact,
Providing opportunity to connect.

Entertainment is naturally built-in. People are drawn to others’ antics. People are drawn to others’ doings. The soul wants entertainment, and the best way to get it is to be entertaining. To oneself and to others!

Wisdom poetry is wondrous!

Loveliness for the Eyes

David statue-trees

The statue of David.
Standing in its grandeur,
So tall and arresting,
Its beauty is breathtaking.
To see it
Requires entrance fee
to the museum,
Plus a visit to Florence.

The tree across the street.
Standing in its grandeur,
So tall and arresting,
Its beauty is breathtaking.
To see it
Requires opening
one’s eyes
To the masterpiece at home.

This poem is from the recently published book of poetry named Unfolding.
