A Balanced Approach to Wellness!

When an argument has ensued or a longstanding feud has been fueled, the accompanying feelings of energy, anger, or assault are actual expressions of EMPTY functioning.

We people are powered by creativity, not by dispute. Yes it seems that disputes produce enormous amounts of energy, but in the spiritual realm the disputes produce emptiness and fragmentation.

For people, the emptiness seeps into the psyche and distorts proper behavior. Rather than extend kindness, people build stumbling blocks.

It’s important to understand that conflict is as a virus, infecting and spreading a horrific disease.

For information about conflict, read Descending into War, Descending into Contempt.

heart-drugged

This post has taken me by surprise, but Spirit assures me that there is a failure addiction. Unlike addictions to heroin or gambling, failure addiction requires little investment in paraphernalia or cash. Failure addiction requires these three mindsets: determination to not succeed, creation of stumbling blocks, and inability to see opportunities.

Many people suffer from failure addiction; however, it is often subtle and sometimes even socially acceptable so that the sufferers feel justified in their inabilities to succeed. It often stems from childhood traumas that teach children to distance themselves from their internal dialogues and from their inherent abilities. The less people know themselves, the easier to set themselves up for failure.

Much more can be said about the causes of failure addiction, but Spirit wants me to turn to solutions. So here they are:

  1. A person cannot fail when he or she knows personal truths. Turning inwards, and focusing on true passions and abilities, leads to movement away from procrastination and sabotage. This step can take time, but is crucial in moving past cemented habits of failure.
  2. Connecting to the natural world opens a failure addict to external wonderment. Being outside in nature removes focus on internal suffering. Entering natural water sources or green surroundings lifts thoughts of self-misery, often completely but sometimes temporarily. These moments can counter negativity when the pursuit of connection with nature is done with awareness of the purpose to distance from failure expectations.
  3. Connecting to music that is soothing or melodic can aid the move from failure addiction. Choosing music that uplifts helps the mind move towards positivity.

Failure addiction can affect many areas of life, or just one or two. It can be temporary or long lasting. It can also be the beginning of other addictions.

Failure addiction is worth fixing.

Note: Spirit says we should really get to know our soulful gifts and talents. The more we know them, the more we will want to succeed!

sweets for children

My childhood contained many spoonfuls of sugar. It started off with sweetened formula. There were doughnuts and ice cream, sugar cubes and sodas. Lollipops and candy canes were gifts at doctor appointments and my parents’ business friends’ offices. Halloween provided weeks of sugary treats. The other holidays had their special sweet treats and customary sweet dishes. My family’s snack drawer was full of snack cakes, cookies, and sno balls. At school, lunches included a sweet treat and the food provided was often sweetened. For breakfast, I ate sweetened cereals, sweetened oatmeal, and instant breakfast drinks.  Family trips to the local ice cream parlors and baseball games led to sweet celebrations galore.  Iced tea was always sweetened as were the fresh strawberries. Sunday morning pancakes smothered with imitation maple syrup were the weekly food highlight. Crackers, canned savory foods, spreads, and fast foods were sweetened as well. My diet was sweet foods with occasional breaks for the unsweetened things. I think that my diet was typical of children growing up in the 60s and 70s in the United States. All that sweetness influenced my health, my eating habits, and my thinking.

————————

This blog post is written to parents and grandparents to make them aware that their choices to sweeten the lives of their children and grandchildren delivers misery instead of the intended happiness. Sweetening a child’s life is love misguided.

Note: This blog post is not my opinion although I do agree with it. The wisdom presented here is straight from Spirit.

Parents and grandparents,

“Most of our diet is meant to be non-sweet. The sweet part should be about 8%, and of that 8%, all should be from natural sources—that is how our bodies are designed. .” …from the post “Sweeteners: The Facts

More than 8% sweetness leads to:

  • changed appetite (wanting foods for their sweetness rather than for their satisfaction of hunger)
  • emotional turmoil
  • malfunctioning of the processes that handle sweetness
  • reduced resilience of body parts (for example, teeth)
  • illness
  • compromised attention capabilities
  • over-desire for sweetness
  • reduced muscle activity
  • feelings of negativity towards self

from the post “The Facts: Living in a World of Sweetened Sustenance

Through sweets, well-meaning parents feed their children emotional turmoil and compromised attention capabilities. These changes to natural temperament and attentiveness cause problems with peers and in school.

Through sweets, well-intentioned parents offer their children reduced resilience of body parts as rewards for good behavior and grades. Even parents who know the facts about sweetness succumb to societal pressure to provide their children with changed appetite and over-desire for sweetness. Combating the pervasiveness of sweetness in society is not easy.

Rewarding children using sweets that contribute to feelings of negativity towards themselves is building people who are unsure of themselves. Rewarding children with causers of malfunctioning of the processes that handle sweetness is mistaken gifting.

Sweets that are natural, such as fruit and pure maple syrup, are building unless they exceed the 8% limit. Sweets that are destructive, such as sugar and corn syrup, cause disruptions in functioning and in future functioning.

Going against the typical way of pushing sweets onto children is not easy. Defying the advertisers and makers of sweet things is work. Understanding what you are doing each time you give your child a soda or a candy bar or a sweetened cereal, might help you change your outlook on how you stock your house and how you supply nutrition to the children you love with all your heart.

Post 80-Attention

How much time is unharmful for children? Which age is less harmful for a child to play on a smartphone? Which age is the most damaging to use a smartphone? Is a computer screen better than a smartphone screen? Do smartphones create less intelligent people? These questions are the ones that Spirit wants to address.

How much time is unharmful for children?

This question assumes harm. Smart device screens are harmful on many levels–socially, developmentally, and emotionally. The answer to the question is zero (0). More than zero, the harm begins, because the draw of the screen is too strong.

Which age is less harmful for a child to play on a smartphone?

The general answer is that until the age of 17, smart devices are too damaging.

Which age is the most damaging to use a smartphone?

Infants do not belong with smartphones and they should not hold them. Toddlers lose their sense of curiosity about the world if they play too much on a smart device. Young children are damaged by screen time when it is the “toy” given to keep them occupied. Young teens are the most susceptible to the social damage caused by unchecked usage of a smartphone.

Is a computer screen better than a smartphone screen?

Too much time on either of these screens is harmful. Smartphone screens are more harmful to posture, although sitting at a computer without taking regular breaks is also harmful to posture. The safety aspects of a smartphone provide security which a computer screen cannot provide.

Do smartphones create less intelligent people?

The answer to this question depends on the age and frequency of usage. The younger the child is when he or she craves the smartphone, the more chance for creative thought to diminish. The intelligence isn’t affected, but the ability to tap into deeper thinking can be impaired. Also, internal dialogue becomes less frequent.

How can parents proceed when smartphones are so pervasive?

  • Resist the temptation to give a smartphone to a child to keep him or her quiet! Keep interesting things with you at all times so you don’t turn to the smartphone.
  • Limit the time you are on your smartphone around your children. The smartphone will have less appeal for the children if you use it infrequently.
  • If you give your child a mobile phone for safety reasons, choose a mobile phone that is just a phone–no games and no internet access.
  • Do not allow smartphones at mealtimes.
  • Collect all smartphones and other smart devices before bedtime and do not allow them to be in the bedrooms. Do not use them in place of alarm clocks.

Here are posts to read about children and screens: Kids and LCD (screen) addiction, Relief from LCD addiction, and Screen! My beloved screen!

Note: Spirit has pushed me to provide this information.

caring

This tip is for parents, grandparents, and caregivers. It applies to children being raised in today’s world of constant external stimulation.

  • The most important thing to limit is your time away from the children.

The children require your time and your attention. They require material things less. They require your eyes on them, not you looking at a screen or you placing them in front of a screen.

Children thrive when their loved ones give them security. The security develops through loving touch, words, and facial expressions.

Vape destruction

There are headlines about the problems with vaping and the unknown consequences of vaping, especially by young people. I read that vaping is too new to know the consequences, so I decided to ask Spirit for a prognosis.

Here is what Spirit is sharing:

There are other problems as well, and this table is not exhaustive.

SALVATION!

soul connection

What brings salvation?

Seeing with the heart brings salvation! Listening with ears that are open-minded brings salvation too!

Releasing mean-spirited thoughts is helpful. As is choosing to stop mean-spirited actions.

Salvation can come when the thoughts and actions align in kindness. And when the thoughts and actions align in sympathy.

Common sense leads us to build our lives in generally wise ways. Sometimes though, our common sense gets derailed when we listen to others who cause us to question our wisdom. Many of these influencing people have a vested interest in us following their “advice”, because doing so enriches them or increases their influence. We can’t know everything so we do need to rely on information from others, but we have to be aware of the interests of the people who provide the information. Also, wisdom from the past that was once useful doesn’t always translate into wisdom for the present.

Here are four things we get wrong because of the various forces that cause us to think unrealistically.

1. Thinking that love is fairytale possible

People are meant to build deep relationships, but the relationships are not fairytale fantasies.  Relationships require gentle nurturing. They require realistic expectations and perceptions.

Storytellers and movie producers create fantasies of fairytale love, but the reality is different.  Many industries push people to teach their children that fantasy is possible, but reality is different and parents unintentionally raise their children to be disappointed and unhappy.

Life is lived in a more balanced way when love is understood to be a sense of obligation, a show of appreciation, an attraction to the inner character as well as to the outer appearance, a commitment of constant consideration, an openness to coexistence, and an unfailing commitment to kindness and acceptance.

“LOVE that is fantasy is love that is too unreal. This type of love is misunderstood and unattainable. This type of love is difficult and tiring. Falling in love is real as is feeling strong love for another person; however, “true love” is fabrication. Investing in the myth of a perfect love match is non-sustaining. Non-sustaining in terms of health and self-esteem and perception. Attaching to fabled storytelling is abusive, self-abuse.”

Fairytale love is explored, together with realistic loving relationships and unrequited love in the book Oneself–Living.

2. Thinking that people have a right to eat as much meat as they want

Many meat advocates push the consumption of meat products at one or more meals a day. They convince others that the meat is required to maintain strength and vitality.

The ease at which meat is obtained has led to a devaluation of its role in our diets. It has become underappreciated and disrespected. Meat consumption has become inhumane.

Meat is food that can be nourishing and satisfying.  Meat is meant to be eaten in moderation and with appreciation. Read more about meat consumption in these blog posts: Devouring delicious meat, Too much meat, and To eat farmed salmon or not?

3. Thinking that a religion is superior to others

“Religion is an accessway for connecting to God; it is not the destination. Elevating the religion, rather than the divine connection, disconnects people from God. Religions are approaches, they are not possessions to be coveted or aggrandized. ”

Throughout the wisdom writings I have received, the message has been clear:

“NO GROUP IS CLOSER TO SPIRIT THAN ANY OTHER.
NO GROUP SPEAKS FOR SPIRIT.
SPIRIT IS FOR ALL
= EQUALLY=
SPIRIT IS ALL-COME-TO-ME-JUSTLY!
Come justly without harm
To any others”

The quotes are from the books Descending into War, Descending into Contempt and Faith–A Wisdom Poem Sharing Spiritual Connection.

4. Thinking that toddlers want to sit in a forward-facing stroller/pushchair

Compared to the other misunderstood subjects, this one might seem small, but it impacts development of children. Most stroller/pushchair manufacturers tout the benefits of those that are forward facing (the child and parent are both facing forward). Common sense dictates that the toddler should face the beloved parent, but the parents are swayed by the marketing of the companies.

The direction that is best for children is explained in the blog post Strollers–which direction is best for the children.

Appendix flexible

The appendix is misunderstood and underappreciated. It is an organ that baffles doctors and scientists, so they have dismissed its usefulness. In the last few years, some have begun to question science’s indifference to the appendix. A slow appreciation is beginning to take place. That’s good for us.

The appendix is an organ that initiates and monitors healing throughout the body. It works with glands to provide appropriate healing responses. It also handles end-of-life activities and responses. The appendix is a lifelong participant in the body’s daily work to maintain health.

Removal of the appendix affects healing responses. Some of the appendix’s work is absorbed by other bodily functioning, but not all. The lack of an appendix requires exertion by other organs, glands, and flows.

Keeping the appendix strong and flexible aids the body’s healing abilities. Here are blog posts to read:

Here is one more appendix flexibility exercise:

  1. Sit on a chair and press the bottoms of your feet together.
  2. Place your hands on your abdomen.
  3. Breathe deeply to and from your abdomen, and while you breathe extend your chest upwards.
  4. Aim to lift your chest as high as possible without straining your back and maintain a relaxed facial expression.
  5. Place your feet flat on the floor and keep breathing to your abdomen and lifting your chest.
  6. Slowly twist your upper body from side to side while breathing deeply and lifting your chest.
  7. While slowly twisting, inhale more deeply (the exhales can be deep or not).
  8. After a few of these twists, lower your chest to its normal position and breathe normally.
  9. Place your hands on your knees and pull your abdomen in and hold it there while breathing normally.
  10. When you feel that your abdomen is ready to relax, take your hands off your knees.

Appendix flexible

The appendix is an organ that can become rigid. Its rigidity is from overconsumption of disaccharides with alpha bonds (sucrose, maltose, trehalose), presence of certain bacteria, and digestive abnormalities.

Keeping the appendix flexible through diet and exercise helps prevent inflammation and infection. Dietary guidelines mainly relate to overconsumption of sweeteners that rely on the disaccharides with alpha bonds. Less is helpful.

Many exercises affect the flexibility of the appendix. Exercises that require consistent deep breathing, such as yoga, martial arts, and hiking in hilly terrain, naturally flex the appendix.

Here is an exercise that specifically affects the appendix and other internal organs.

  1. Sit on a chair, making sure that your feet are flat on the floor.
  2. Breathe deeply several times, increasing the depth of your breath each time.
  3. Bend forward until your body rests on your thighs.
  4. From this bent position breathe rhythmically, and then breathe several quick breaths.
  5. After the last quick breath, hold your breath for several seconds, and then release the air with a long exhale.
  6. Stay in the bent position and pull in your abdomen as much as possible without straining. Hold this position for several normal breaths.
  7. Relax your abdomen and breath normally a few breaths, then sit up.
  8. Breathe deeply several times, increasing the depth of your breath each time.
  9. Hold your breath one last time, and then release the air and breath normally.

Note: This information has been spiritually received.

Appendix strong

Strengthening the appendix is a worthwhile goal, because the appendix provides healing that the body needs. The appendix is not understood, but slowly, the medical establishment is starting to open to the reality that the appendix is useful.

Here are ways to strengthen your appendix and prevent inflammation or infection:

  • Eat whole, nutritious foods rather than foods that provide little to no nutritional value.
  • Consistently drink the amount of water that suits your body.
  • Help your body have regular bowel movements (without using chemical aids).
  • When your body feels ill, take care of it (naturally if possible).
  • Condition your appendix by doing exercises that work the peritoneum and diaphragm. Doing regular moderate movement is helpful.

Appendix toning exercise

This exercise is good for many of your internal organs. It involves physical movement and imaginative thinking (for step 2). Performing this exercise several times a week is good for overall toning of the appendix.

  1. Sit on a comfortable chair, making sure that your feet are flat on the floor.
  2. Pull your pelvic muscles up so that they feel as if they reach high into your abdomen. Keep pulling up for the rest of the exercise.
  3. Place your legs together and squeeze them together (not so tightly that it hurts your knees or ankles).
  4. Lower you head slightly, then place your hands on your cheeks and squeeze your arms in.
  5. Hold these pulling and squeezing positions, and breathe deeply 3 times.
  6. Release your body and breathe comfortably.

If your appendix was removed, the information provided here is still important. For information about how the body is affected when the appendix is removed, read this blog post: How does the body heal when the appendix is removed?

Food 20-20

The existing graphic presentations of balanced eating—the food pyramid, the healthy eating plate, MyPlate, Canada’s food guide, the Eatwell guide—are helpful, but they focus only on the foods.

Balanced eating requires more than consuming foods in nutritious percentages.

Food 20/20 is eating that is elevated and satisfying. Nourishment is more than consuming foods that supply nutrients to the body. Nourishment includes intention and atmosphere. Nourishment of the body nourishes the soul when the intention is appreciative of the food and the atmosphere is uplifting.

Let’s look closely at Food 20/20 to understand it.

Moderation. Moderation comes above all parts of Food 20/20, because moderation is needed in consumption and in intention. Foods eaten in moderate amounts nourish properly.

Appreciation (violet). Appreciation, without excessive fixation on being appreciative, helps food be spiritually nourishing.

Uplifting eating environment (indigo). The atmosphere in which food is eaten influences physical, emotional, and spiritual growth. When food is consumed in the company of others, in a relaxed pace, and without stress, the food is received by the body optimally.

The Blue group: Water and liquids. Water is the basic external requirement that we need in order to live. It is the food group that cannot be skipped. Nourishing liquids, besides water, that provide vitality are good. Liquids that contain substances such as caffeine, sweeteners (natural or synthetic), and colorings, are wizening.

The Green group: Vegetables-Whole grains-Nuts and seeds-Legumes. These foods form the basis of substances that are satisfying and balancing.

The Yellow group: Eggs-Meat-Dairy-Seafood. These foods require additional appreciation towards the lives that produce them. When eaten, they supply nourishment and satisfaction; however, they are less balancing than the Green group. The Yellow group appears with a dashed, gray line, because of ethical and sustainability concerns.

The Orange group: Fruit. Sweetness is best eaten slowly and savoringly. Fruit contains nutritious elements and unbalancing aspects. The sweetness can be unbalancing and requires balance from the Green group.

The Red group: Herbs-Flavors-Oils-Spices. These foods are best eaten in small amounts. They add tastiness and tweaked accessibility to the main groups of foods. Flavors include sweeteners such as date syrup, maple syrup, stevia, and honey. This group is meant to enhance food and not detract from food’s nutritious role. This group does not include eye-catching additives that harm health.

Food 20/20 presents the importance of non-food aspects of eating. These aspects are enclosed by dotted lines to indicate their intangibility. Appreciation is emphasized with a double oval, because of its effects on health.

The food groups decrease in size to indicate the amounts to be eaten. The foods in the Green group: Vegetables-Whole grains-Nuts and seeds-Legumes are meant to be eaten as the main elements of a healthful diet. The other groups are meant to be eaten in smaller and smaller amounts.

Following Food 20/20 opens the body to elevated health, relaxed malady responses, and fulfilling dining experiences!

Note: Food 20/20 was given to me by Spirit!

In preparation for my “Getting to Know Your Soul” workshop, I’m rereading Awaiting Light—Understanding the Development of the Soul. I received the information for this book in 2014, and it still amazes me as before. I’d like to share a few quotes from the book that fascinate me.

Body and soul, soul and body—intertwined and independent. One can want one thing and the other can want something else, but whatever choices are made affects the other.

Bound and dependent, distinct and independent—duality in influencing the actions of each individual. The body and soul are joined at birth when the first inhalation occurs. The body and soul relinquish connection when bodily functioning has completely stopped and the pull of the soul towards next occurs.

The soul is tattooed on the countenance of each person, and awareness of this soul display is needed in order to understand what we are seeing when we look into the face of another.

Soul and body, body and soul—sameness in intangible form. The affixation of the soul and the body individualizes the tangible and intangible form. In other words, the physical being has a unique and joined presentation that is conforming to requirements of the soul and of the body. This individuality is expressed in fingerprints and other unique-to-me markings, both tangible (like the fingerprints) and intangible (likes, interests, etc.)

The soul is the reason for the body. The body is the means to living by the soul.

Each person has individualized likes and dislikes, personality traits, reactions, and habits. These individualized self-definitions are influenced by genetics, family influence, societal influence, and the times in which the person lives. Beyond these influences is the influence of the soul.

When a person is born, he or she is the recipient of a soul and this soul brings color—soul-color! The color of the soul is the starting point for a person’s individual character and personality.

What Are the Personality Characteristics of the Soul?

According to Awaiting Light—Understanding the Development of the Soul, soul-color is a combination of four attributes: shade, hue, contrast, and coloration. Each of these attributes determines a part of a person’s personality, likes, dislikes, temperament, and family connections. When a baby receives the soul, all these attributes are given, and they are the person’s direction for life. As the baby grows, and depending on outside influences, the soul-color shines or is smudged.

What Is the Soul-Color Attribute Hue?

Hue is the attribute that sets attractions—attractions to certain activities, colors, shapes, knowledge, sounds, scents, textures, foods, etc.

“From the moment a person is born, distinct preferences are evident. A baby reacts to various stimuli in positive or negative ways, but adults are unaware that issues other than hunger, wetness, or discomfort are at play. As the baby ages and is able to communicate through movements and sounds, adults slowly grasp the interests and triggers that pull or repel the infant.” from the chapter “Soul-Color Attributes” in Awaiting Light.

>> Knowing which interests are innately fixed is a step towards knowing your soul-color attribute hue.

What Is the Soul-Color Attribute Contrast?

Contrast is the attribute that sets opposite-sided emotional reactions. Examples are joy-sorrow, warmth-indifference, and excitement-insensitivity. Contrast determines the passion that is felt as life is experienced and the conviction that is felt when opinions and thoughts are formulated. Some people feel their emotions in a large way, some feel their emotions in a reserved way, and some feel their emotions differently depending on circumstances. All of these ways are normal and are soul-endowed.

>> Recognizing depth of emotion innately felt is a step towards knowing your soul-color attribute contrast.

What Is the Soul-Color Attribute Shade?

Shade is the attribute that affects pace, temperature tolerance, circadian calibration (natural affinity for certain times in a day), and acceptance of boundaries. Pace determines the speed at which a person naturally lives, ranging from living without rush to living at an exuberant speed. Temperature tolerance is the coolness-warmth range that is determined by the location to which a person is born. Circadian calibration determines the time of day that is most comfortable to a person. Acceptance of boundaries refers to a person’s natural moral compass of knowing right and wrong.

>> Sensing your natural rhythm of movement, temperature, day or nighttime preference, and sense of right and wrong is a step towards knowing your soul-color attribute shade.

What Is the Soul-Color Attribute Coloration?

Coloration is the attribute that determines the soul-groupings for souls of similar colors. Coloration provides the possibility of group connections. It causes the feeling that you’ve known some people forever, when you’ve just met them.

>> Coloration is a group attribute. Being able to recognize group traits in your family and friends is a step towards knowing your soul-color attribute coloration.

Conclusion

Each soul is combination of soul-color attributes that are spiritually linked to one another. Each soul is unique, like a person’s fingerprints.

The more you can know and understand yourself, the more you can see your soul’s color and the more authentically you can live.

pills

There’s a pill for pretty much anything. Suffering from a headache? Lots of pills to choose from. How about a displaced vertebra? The choice is wide for that, too. Feeling shy? Yes, there are pills for shyness. Stomach upset? Take a pill. Constipated? Take a pill. And so it goes…

Drug-based treatments overcorrect AND undermine the body. They are too powerful to address the nuances in body dysfunction. They have value when overabundance of a disease occurs (like measles), but they are overly valued to cure and rectify.

A pill might “cure” one aspect of an illness, but its side effects can instigate dysfunction of the body that is harder to cure. Combinations of pills afflict in magnified ways, sometimes shutting down a body’s ability to heal itself naturally.

Dependence on pills leads to addiction and inability to understand communications from the body. The pills dictate choices and behavior. Addiction to pills is life lived dedicated to untruth–untruth about one’s body and one’s soul.

When the body is in need of support, the last resort should be a pill. The first response should be to understand the causes. Too little sleep? Too little movement? Too little of both sleep and movement? Missing hydration? Missing fiber? Missing physical touch? Undernourishment? Overstimulation? A pill will not fix these too-littles, missings, unders, and overs.

Yes, there are pills for pretty much anything. Their marketers want you to think the pills will help. The sales of pills bring them livelihood. The sales of pills bring livelihood to others as well. Yes, the sales of pills have whole industries revolving around them.

The world is afflicted with the consequences of drug-based treatments. Wonderful? Wonderful for the pill industries? Wonderful for the pill takers? Are the pills wonderful? They have a place, and that place is much smaller than the reality in the pill-popping, pill-addicted societies.

Note: This information has been spiritually received. Spirit want closeness to our souls, not closeness to soul-distancing pills.

balance

Oh if life were so easy
I would be the person I was meant to be
I would take on challenges and handle them with ease
I would be open and funny and clever
I would look fabulous and sing on key
I would not be cranky or defensive
And I would not get upset over silly things.

But life isn’t easy
So I let myself off the hook
And often don’t try
And blame others
And wallow in misery
And even give up
Sometimes.

Perhaps there is a place where
I can find respite from my too-difficult me
Where my mind shuts up
And my gut finally stills
Where I let myself accept
And I let myself free
The person that I am truly meant to be.

Post 7-bracelet

Too many people let themselves sink too low. Rather than rejoice in their living, they choose their misery. Sometimes the cause is nutritional, sometimes the cause is hormonal, and sometimes the cause is just habit. When the reason is laziness or lack of appreciation, the way out is through communal service. When the reason is nutritional or hormonal, the way out is through intervention by a nutritionist, naturopath, doctor, or other healing specialist.

There are other causes as well for the spiral downwards, and often spiritual connection can aid the situation. Energy Guidance Complete is spiritual healing focused on balance and elevated living. Making changes in one’s focus can lead to changes in one’s self-centeredness. Finding guidance that is larger than oneself can loosen self-absorption.  Accepting that the difficulties are just difficulties that can be handled releases self-indulgence.

Making changes is not difficult when we truly want to change. Yes, we can make changes when we truly want to change. The first step is to want to bring change. The next step is to truly want to change. Then the search can begin for how to change so that we can live the life that fits who we are.

Post 95 nature-1

  • Is going to the mall satisfying for the soul? No, not even to people who love shopping (even if they think so).
  • Is playing game apps or watching viral videos satisfying for the soul? No, not even if the viral video is about a wonderful person.
  • Is sitting at a restaurant satisfying for the soul? It can be, if you are sitting with people who are enriching, but the atmosphere at any restaurant is not enriching for the soul.

Connecting with nature is satisfying for the soul. It just is, because we were designed to be part of nature. Along the way, we lost the importance of our place in nature and we need to get it back. In general, our lives have become very cut off from nature, especially for those who live in large cities or spend too much time in cars or public transportation. There are people who work at staying connected, but they are not the majority.

Post 95-nature 3

How to reconnect with nature

  • Plan regular hikes and actually go on the hikes. The hikes don’t have to be long, but they should be in green spaces.
  • Visit parks and nature areas.
  • Visit humane zoos and petting zoos. Contact with animals is an important part of connecting with nature.
  • Shop at farmers’ markets and find farms that have fruit picking. And go pick fruit!
  • Add more plants and potted flowers inside your home.
  • Visit places with water: beaches, lakes, rivers, and springs.
  • Visit botanical gardens.

Try being more connected to nature and see how entertaining it can be. And at the same time, your soul with be nourished and you will become more balanced.

Post 95-nature 2

vegetable platterFood is incredibly magical! When it is tastefully presented, food is like art! When it is tastefully advertised (on a menu or chalkboard), food is an enticing seducer. When it is coaxed into magnificent displays of mouth-watering delights, food is unbeatable!

When food is rejected, it is ominous to the people rejecting it. When food is scarce, it is overly important. And when food is nourishing, it sustains life at life’s optimal levels.

Food is:

  • Calming,
  • Satisfying,
  • Entertaining,
  • Life-giving,
  • Inviting,
  • Dividing,
  • A calling,
  • Varied,
  • Simple,
  • Complicated,

  • Settling,
  • Disturbing,
  • and Natural!

Food is magic in reality!

Renee by olive tree

A few months ago, I started waking each morning with my jaw stuck on one side. It would loosen with time, and I didn’t concern myself with it until the morning it stayed stuck and hurt. I didn’t worry until the next day when it was still stuck and I could barely open my mouth to eat.

I immediately asked Spirit if I should worry about this painful situation, and Spirit assured me that my body could naturally heal itself. I was instructed to stop sleeping on the side that hurt. That’s it! No other treatment—no vitamins to take, no creams to use, and no doctors or dentists to visit.

The healing took five weeks! The first two weeks, I had to eat food cut into tiny pieces and no sandwiches. The third week, my jaw loosened a bit, and by the fourth week, I could tell it was almost healed. Several times I worried and questioned whether to go to a dentist, but each time Spirit assured me that my body would do the healing work.

Here’s what I learned:

  • The body is truly a marvelous creation, caring for and healing itself.
  • My upbringing to seek outside help at the moment pain is felt has its power over me to doubt my body’s own power to heal.
  • People don’t pay much attention to others. That whole time my jaw was stuck, I didn’t mention it to anyone and no one noticed that I was eating differently and using my mouth differently. We worry what people think of us way too much!
  • Patience is the key to natural healing.

I am fortunate to have this direct connection with Spirit to guide me (my sister calls it cheating 🙂 ) and I know that others feel less confident to rely on natural healing.

My previous post “Standing up for the body” reminds us of the importance of caring for our bodies so that we can hear the messages and know what to do. Had I been paying attention that my jaw hurt on that one side each morning, I could have worked out that my sleeping position was causing the problem.

I can write more about natural healing if my readers let me know they are interested.

Note: My connection is to Spirit who guides me to help myself and others.

Our bodies are so wondrously composed that to question their capabilities is silly. Our bodies beat out rhythms that move us upwards and forwards. They protect us and guide us when we listen. And they constantly communicate when we are open to listening. People who listen to their bodies recognize hints of illness and shouts of desire. The hints lead to proper care and the shouts lead to connections.

People who don’t listen to their bodies require wake up calls and intervention from experts (who don’t know them).

The body, in its exquisite design, is capable of pushing towards movement, of pushing towards sleep, of pushing towards satisfaction, and pushing towards wellness. The key to tapping into the capabilities is to feel what’s happening, what’s really happening: Are the eyelids drooping? Are the bones tightening? Is the stomach grumbling, and is it quiet when the foods eaten are nourishing? Is the heart feeling joy or is it sad? Is the time to drink water now, and am I drinking water (and not a carbonated beverage)? Am I noticing the signs of illness and am I slowing my pace? Is this my third cold this season, and what does that mean? Have I enjoyed the company of people I love and have I shared my love with them? Is now the time to reach spirituality, and can I be open to new ideas? When will I open my mouth to say what I need, and when will I use my wisdom to advance the welfare of the community? More and more hints on how to proceed in life.

By standing up for the body—by recognizing its gift that is guidance—we can live with wonder and satisfaction. The way we are designed!
